Lake Marburg is not your typical south-central impoundment. Instead
of the usual "long and lean" shape, the impoundment
features a substantial arm which runs perpendicular
to the main body of the lake.  This arm has two
coves with two major flats,  Widasan and Marburg.
Also Black Rocks Flats at the southeast
corner of the lake and Sinsheim Cove
at the eastern end of the lake near the
dam are all excellent largemouth spots.

Typically some of the biggest
largemouth bass recorded by
the Fish and Boat Commission
each year come from Lake
Marburg in York County.
Fisheries manager Mike
Kaufmann said Lake Marburg
is "very good to excellent
both in numbers and
size of largemouth."
Lake Marburg is in the
state's Big Bass
program, so
apparently the
regulations are
having some
good effect.
Local tourna-
ments have
reported
good
stringers
for many
years.
